Hi, to all .
I am jai. i am planning to come to aus.for my masters in engineering. I already got scholarship from UWA perth, and i am in process too. still i am worried about future. I spoke to few people and all have different views and opinions.
Some are saying Aus. is not same for us (aftermaths of racist incidents in past). PR is the last thing to worry about now, before that you have to face other problems.
The Visa extension is the biggest one now.. Is that true?
If i dont get a job immediately after my course finishes , Aus.gov. would not allow me to stay there for longer. And if i get the Job , it depends on my Organisation whether my Employer wil sponsor me or not..
Other said just be here , life has real meanings and things will be alright once you will be here.
Confused.. please do help . Tell me what is the truth and actual picture.
though i dindt get a visa yet. still m thinking too much.
I am B.Tech graduate with 2 years work exp. in Networking, Got 7 overall bands in IELTS.
and planning to purse PG in power system engineering from UWA perth.

what kind of scholarship - IPRS ?
Be aware that not many International students get IPRS scholarships - sometimes it is 2 awards per university for master degree.and i think Power System Engineering a good discpline.
Come , learn and see for yourself if you like the place, culture.
You only need to take care of your livign expenses
Who knows you may get corporate part time research work through University.
As you may have already got advice, do not bother about PR.prioritize what is important for you at this stage.
If No.1 is Studies- then dont ever miss this chance.
Good luck.

Sorry to give you such a negative comments, I am not sure whether all your expectations will be fulfilled, for even I had always been putting studies/my research work as my priority, but you need to be careful about peer pressure and this is a matter of chance(luck) that you get good people to meet and mingle with you and be your intellectual companions.
I do not agree with Sangeetha in toto , including the scholarship that she assumes that you have been awarded with. I think by now you will be in Australia, play your cards well.
