TOP 10 Tips to avoid any trouble while you are studying in Australia

1.Make sure you update your address with your educational institute every time you move into a new place to live.

2.Always make sure you have a overseas student health cover-If your cover is about to expire do shop around and do not get into dirty tricks of private health insurance companies because it is not mandatory to opt for same company to renew your health cover-for example if you had a health cover with Medibank and its about to expire you can always consult another provider such as Bupa

3.Do not live in a place that has a bad reputation such as footscray,sunshine-It has been observed that some students from India and south asian countries live in trouble areas just to save money because rent in above mentioned areas are cheap compare to Malvern.

4.If someone ask for money do not abuse him or get angry, simple say sorry mate have got any single cent.- Do not panic or show that you are scared.Australia is a great country and law treats everyone equally. If you will show your self as a soft target you will get in trouble.

5.Make sure your health is good-Always make sure you eat properly and never let people and circumstances affects your state of mind. You will only be able to complete your studies and your mission if you feel good mentally, physically and spiritually.

6.Do not get into the habit of Gambling- I know most of the students hardly earn much money they can even think about gambling but still IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW do not ever became a problem gambler you simply can not afford to loose what you have as you do not have any support -NO mum -no dad -no family there to do a regular check on you.

7.Apply for part time jobs and if they do not select you always give a call to concerned person and ask politely what went wrong? You are well within your right if your were denied an opportunity to work and in my opinion you should always be confident when you go for an interview(do not wear blanket of fear--oooo i am just a student here)Employer loves people who are confident-- If some one says you cant work full time simply say "Yes i know that is why i wanna work part time as i am sure i can boost your business n also concentrate on my studies" say something positive do not give up to Australians only because you do not have right to work full time. Be positive always and be confident.

8.Make local contacts- You are in a different country so do not try to impose your culture on Australians they wont like it -Make as many local people your friend because this would increase your strength and you will not feel isolated.

9.Do not stay out too late

10.Be in touch with your family back home and share your problems and concerns. If you do not want to live in Australia simply tell them you wanna come back home but i will still say you should not give up.

I totally agree with Mr Tarun Dhalwal and Would like to add a bit to it.

1) New comers to Oz: Do not trust your "Country People" blindly. They can trick you for dollars too.

Example 1: Cab Driver at Airport, Picked up Newcomer from port to his destination, and just for few more dollars he drove wrong and long ways. (True and very common)

Example 2: Before landing here, arrange your Shelter and learn the Rental-Rules.

Sharing of House-Rent should be Fair and equally Distributed. Mostly New Comers pay huge Part for most of the time.

Example 3: Be Extra Cautious While Working "Cash-in-Hand Jobs" Under "Indian, Greek or Italian" Supervision for Trust. 9 Out of 10 Times, he will pay you less than you deserved. Reason: He exactly knows your Fear and can read you mind better than anyone from other Community. It's Better to work on ABN or TFN. Do not greed for extra money.

Example 4: Have Future Vision. Take your own nice Time before choosing the part time job, it's good idea to choose a job which is closely related to your COURSE. In future, it might give you opportunity to enjoy extra 10 Points.
